"Rose" is the Irish equivalent of Beauty and the Beast. This version follows a similar storyline of a girl being held prisoner in a castle by a beast. Her father steals a rose from the castle garden and the lion that lives inside sentences him to death. The daughter takes his place and falls in love with the lion. The lion turns into a handsome prince and they live out their days happily.
